Renew Hub, Manchester

The Renew Hub in Manchester is the largest facility aimed at reusing, repairing and repurposing things we dispose of in our waste recycling centres.

It’s donated at the Renew container in the Greater Manchester local recycling centres are taken to the Renew Hub. Here, they’re cleaned up, repaired if necessary, or upcycled before they’re sent on to one of  three Renew shops. Larger or more premium items are sold through an eBay shop, Renew Market.

In this way, hundreds of tonnes of items which would have otherwise gone to waste are made available to Greater Manchester residents at affordable prices.  Even better, the money raised via Renew goes back to the local community through the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity and the R4GM Community Fund.

The Renew Hub is run on behalf of Recycle for Great Manchester (R4GM) by Suez.

The Renew Hub is not open to the public, but does allow collection by prior arrangement.   Many of the renewed goods are sold though shops, located on recycling centres across Greater Manchester.

To ensure the Renew shops are regularly stocked, they encourage residents to donate their unwanted items.   Donation containers are located at all recycling centres across Greater Manchester, except for two.
